'Nanas & Indoor Fun

I know this isn't the most earth shattering video, but for the MiMi's and the Nannie's-it's a milestone! She loves feeding herself...and rubbing it all over her face.

So, I love everything about Spring-EXCEPT-all the rain. The weather is awesome for a day and then rainy and cold for three. While, we had a few great days this week, it was mostly a cloudy, rainy mess the other days. So, while stuck indoors Pax & I had to come up with some entertaining things to do. I busted out some bubbles awhile back to no reaction, but NOW they are a hit. Unfortunately, no picture of this, as I cannot blow bubbles and take pictures simultaneously.

So...we did some shoe organizing...

some snacking...

and a lot of goofing around.

But of course, all she would rather do is crawl around and get into EVERYTHING.
She is successfully into cabinets and some drawers now, so I have to get some cabinet locks soon. I feel like I am wrangling a puppy most days!
Happy Weekend!

Dr. P, Schedules, and finger foods

I have finally come to grips with the fact that I have a 9 month old baby who is into everything and growing/changing faster than I am willing to admit. Windows are a new fav.

We visited our buddy Dr. P on Monday and what wonderful news he had for us! Paxtin is growing like a weed-weight is at 18lbs 4oz-a smidge under the average percentile, but he said that this is normal for this age range. (Definitely due to the SIX teeth she is sprouting.) Her height was 29in. and head growth was right on track. I think, however, the best news was Paxi's green light for introduction to protein (MEAT!) and finger foods (CHEERIOS!). Anything that she can pick up, is fair game. (Dog food is still a daily quest...). But I was so excited, I hightailed it to the store for several variations of chicken and some fun Gerber Graduate finger foods. (Note to my mommy friends: YOGURT MELTS HAVE SUGAR.) Her pincer grasp is dead on and she is so fun to watch at dinner time. Although more ends up on her clothes, she enjoys getting to feed herself. I want to get a video of this...stay tuned.

As for the crawling, Pax is into everything. I now have to get down on the floor and check for things that might catch her attention. She is attempting to pull up on various objects and I am waiting for the morning (or middle of the night) when I find her standing in her crib. = 0

Lots of changes going on in our lives...
Daddy has decided to get a second job and will be gone for most of the day Tues. through Sat. I was hesitant to o.k. this venture, but I think it will be a blessing for our family. He is still in project mode...finishing up on our tile floors. We spend a lot of time at LOWE'S.

Daddy is also shopping for me a new car and I am so excited. Hopefully good news coming soon there.

I also started Pax on a trial 'new schedule' today. I am trying to transition her into one long afternoon nap a day. She is accustomed to 2 naps, one in the morning and one in the late afternoon. I have decided that we can move her bedtime back to 8:00...thus, she sleeps later in the morning...and doesn't need a morning nap. This is all temporary right now and tonight she was EXHAUSTED from only one nap, which was only about an hour. I hope we get something nailed down soon. I hate the changing of the schedule!

Finally, here is sweet P today in her 'green.' The Dr. noticed that her gums were very swollen and I got to feeling around. SIX TEETH. Two top & four bottom. So, her mood..to say the least, has been a bit dismal.

She is such a goob.
I have two video posts in the works. One of pattycake and the other is finger food eating.

I was ginormously pregnant, praying to have my baby at any minute, spazzing because she wasn't here yet, praying she was healthy, and hoping and dreaming that she was just as gorgeous as I had imagined her to be.

And now 9 more months have flown by and I somehow find myself wondering where that time has gone. I am sad that she isn't a bitty baby anymore, but also so very excited for our amazing future together. I have to say, the 9 months that she has been in our lives, has been far more adventurous than when she was in my belly!
Pax is into everything. She is now a seasoned crawler and I predict will be pulling up in NO time. She has discovered all the dogs and follow them around as they desperately try to hide out anywhere they can. Their food is also compromised. Pax discovered that tasty treat, but luckily I caught her before she could stuff her face. Anyone who knows Cody, knows where she got this from. She is slowly transitioning out of her 2 naps a day...into a longer afternoon nap. I think I will like this better. She is in bed most nights around 7:30 and sleeps solid until 7:30 the next morning. I think we are going to try and mover her back to 8:00 now that the time has changed.
Patty cake has always been one of Paxi's favorite songs and she has all but got it. She is finally clapping her hands (video coming soon) and almost has the 'roll it up' part. It is so funny to start singing it as she is randomly crawling somewhere. She will stop mid-crawl to join in with me.
She is working on about 4 teeth all at once right now. The top 2 have all but broke the skin (thank God) and I spotted 2 little bumps next to the 2 teeth she already has on the bottom. Who knows-she could be getting 10 more for all I know. She has been a bit testy and hasn't been sleepy as well during naps, so I know something is really bothering her. I hope they all come in soon.
HAPPY 9 MONTHS TO MY SWEET PAXI BABY!!

Sunshine on My Toes

What an amazing week of weather we had here. 75 degree weather in early March is sooo nice and we took full advantage.
Pax is such an animal lover!

Pax & I spent some days at Nannie's house while daddy began the re-tiling of the kitchen and laundry room at our house. I have no washer/dryer hooked up right now and a half tiled kitchen. INHALE. EXHALE. I will make it.

I mean-just looking at that face makes me smile!

Finally-a picture of a sleeping Paxi. She is usually roughing up my old Cabbage Patch doll, Juliette, when she is awake, but I think they are secret buddies at nap time. So sweet.

My crawling Lambie

Yes...she's crawling. And I cried like the sap I am when she did it. I can't believe we are at this point. We waited and waited and now it is here. Pax is mobile.

Family is your heart's first home

We're home! Again.. We had a wonderful visit in Siloam and finally got to see family we haven't seen in far too long. Not much to say really...just some wonderful photos.

Pax with great Grandma & Grandpa

Playing at their house.

Pax LOVES dogs. Buddy was a good sport.

Halle loves her some Paxi!

And Mia, too.

Bambi was such a fun playmate.

And she even warmed up to Grandpa Brian!
So, I think we are done traveling for awhile. Pax has a formal photo shoot Thursday, so I am trying to keep her accident free. She managed to roll off the bed while we were in Siloam this weekend. No injuries. Thank God. She's going to be my daredevil I'm afraid.

Or the mad Chef.
