From turkey to trees

It's funny to me how fast life transitions from being thankful and with family to complete stress. The holiday season has officially begun and I'll be thankful to get our shopping out of the way!
We had a wonderful Thanksgiving in Oklahoma this year. Pretty low key and surrounded by family. Pax finally got to meet 2/3 of the Brenner boys...and Phil and Merrie.
She was a decent traveler this holiday. For some reason, we were gifted the baby that doesn't sleep in the car...?!?!

She's totally my girl.
I was excited to get our tree up, lit, and see Paxi's reaction. She pretty much just stares, and I can't wait to dress her up and get some pics. Christmas cards are going out as soon as we get a 'good' picture. Daddy-a.k.a. Clark Griswold-managed to get the tree up this year without electrocuting himself. Ornaments were left to me! Pax just got to look cute. What she does best.

I hope no one was trampled today beating down the doors on Black Friday!!

Whatever this is...

I think she's learned to click her tongue.

Cold nose; Warm heart

Brr...it's gotten cold here! I know I shouldn't complain-we know a few Canadians who would explain what cold really is, but winter (to me) has most definatley arrived. So long afternoon walks and playing outside. Not unless we are bundled up...

She is finally getting to wear some of her cute winter clothes. I guess I need to start putting her in shoes...just for an extra layer of warmth!

Our neighbor loaned us this "exerciser" that they weren't using for their grand kids right now. I cleaned the mess out of it and plopped Pax in it and she loved it. We are doing the jumperoo as a Christmas gift and the swing is heading to the attic. This was a wonderful "new" toy that will do for a couple of months.

She plays in it so well, I will be sad to have to return it! Hopefully by then we will have the jumperoo and also a semi-crawling baby...(what am I asking for here?!?!)

The Bumbo seat has also been a huge hit. She's really into books-either sitting and hearing a story or looking at books on her own. She's just such a big girl and it makes me sad.

I have been getting several questions about Paxi's hair and it's color. Yes, it is growing out blonde. Mine did the exact same thing when I was a baby. I went from coal black to blonde. The longer her hair gets, the more visible the blonde becomes. I am not sure how long it will take it to completely change color, but right now-all of her pictures show a reddish tint to her hair!

Then, there's the classic "bed head" look. See, there are downsides to having a baby with a head full of hair.

We are looking forward to spending Thanksgiving with Cody's fam. They haven't seen Paxi in awhile, so it will be good to get together with them.

Pics to pass the time...

Just wanted to post some pics that I had. I need to take more! (If that's even humanly possible...)

Paxi got her first Juicy Couture tracksuit from some friends of ours who live in Houston. How cute does she look in it?! My baby is better dressed than I am...which, up until this point in my life, was hard to even imagine possible.

She is sitting up better and better each day. Pretty soon she won't need the support at all. Crawling is coming...she already turns in circles in her crib at night. Time to baby proof the home.

The weather last week was nice. We went out and took advantage of it-and tried out the new Bumbo seat. This weekend turned extremely cold, so I'm glad we got to get out and soak up the sun for a bit while it was warm.

This week was a little rough for P. Her teeth are driving her (and I) crazy. They are so close to cutting and she is miserable most days. I am using teething tablets, Tylenol, and anything cold I can find for her-but sometimes it just isn't enough. I had braces put on when I was 12-I can relate to some teeth pain. I am hoping by the end of this month or next we have some new "teefs" to show off. If not, I am going to turn into a raging alcoholic.
I can still get that smile...pain or not!

And how funny is this hat?!?!? My friend Leah bought it for Pax before she was born. Hilarious.

Cody and I had a lazy weekend. We had a garage sale Saturday morning-which, amounted to nothing. Such a waste of time. Saturday night we rented movies and layed low. With the holidays coming, we are going to be DYING for some down time.
The vintage toy fairy came to visit Paxi and she has been enjoying some toys from my childhood! Stay tuned for some cute cute pics.

Five golden months...

Where does time go in Baby Land?!?! Seriously, do babies grow at some super human warp speed?!?!

Our baby is five months old and I can not tell you where that time has gone. Wasn't it just summer?! Oy vey...
My little jailbird!!
I tried to get rid of the "red eye" in her pics...(her eyes are light and thus she throws the evil eye in every photo)...so that's why her eye color looks off.

HAPPY 5 MONTHS PAXI BABY!!
And, yes, her hair IS getting that long. I am contemplating a haircut even. Good thing Poppy's in the biz!

Busy Bees

I have to apologize for being such a terrible blogger. Some days I feel like I have all the time in the world and then others I feel like I am racing the clock. That and Pax keeps me busy most all the time!

I know this is a blog dedicated to my daughter, but I have to say one thing about this year's presidential election. I have never, in my young adult life, been more proud or more energized by a politician than I am by Barack Obama. I am more than excited that he will be leading our country through the changes we so desperately need.

Ok-off the soap box....

Pax and I have been laying low-chugging' along. She is sooo close to sitting up on her own...

She only needs help here and there when she has trouble balancing on her badonky donk...(no fault of her own.)

I stick her in her Boppy for support and I recently bought her a Bumbo seat to try out.

So cute in her hoodie!!

Christmas shopping is in full swing at our house and I am positively giddy about all the things we are planning for Paxi. You only get your first Christmas once!!

Finally, I wanted to post pictures of Pax in her waaaay cute onesies that Bambi made for her. I found the pattern for the onesies awhile back and Bambi made them a reality!! Absolutely the cutest things ever...we got lots of compliments.

Also, just want to say a huge thank you to the girlies over at The Hip Hostess!! I love my cupcake holder and it was fun being the winner of your giveaway!!

Stayin' Alive

Just a quick post to say hello-and that we are alive...doing wonderful.

Not a whole lot new in the world of Paxi, although I feel she changes immensely each day. She is still head over heels for the rice cereal and enjoys her bowlful of it each morning. She has been a tad unruly in the sleep department...not sure what is going on there, but I feel like a zombie most days. I am trying to reduce her naps throughout the day and that has seemed to help with the sleeping at night. Hopefully, it's just her teeth. (Or the gumminess that they are evacuating from...
Still having trouble with the video uploading on here. Probably time to try and find some other way to upload them. So, here are some pics of just randomness. Enjoy!

Oh-BTW-all you mommy's out there...skip over to my friend Courtney's blog and check out her post about Carter's Fall'07 clothing line causing possible rashes. It was really informative.
Now for the pics!!
My grandma made Paxi a Halloween bonnet...

She dressed up to match her Poppy!!

Dressed up...at home...

Well...sort of...

Paxi and her uncle Jordan

And one with the "big dog!!"

Love you all!
