Lip Hairs

My grandfather, who had a massive stroke a few months back, has finally gotten to where he can come out and visit Pax more often. It makes his week to visit with her on Sunday-and I'm pretty sure hers too. =)
This will be the only man she kisses with a moustache for AWHILE. ;)

penguin run

This is a new favorite for us. We run and run and run-and she never gets tired of it. =)

fancy shoes

Paxtin got a very snazzy gift from her Nannie and Poppy for Valentine's Day-fuzzy high heels!!

It took her a minute to figure out what they were for-she had never seen shoes quite so flashy!!

She's got it down now and wobbles all around the house in her new heels. She even added her tutu today for extra flair. Girls will be girls!!

We had a very low-key Valentine's around here. It isn't a huge holiday we celebrate, we just do little gifts to show we care. Paxi got a little stuffed animal from her daddy and we all exchanged cards-and Cody got me a huge bucket of candy (a straight line to my heart!!)

Hope everyone had a day filled with LOVE. =)

Kazoo

Maybe the musical instruments idea for Christmas wasn't the best we've ever had, but dang it if she isn't a mean kazoo player.

20 months old

I know I say this every time, but I can't believe we are at 20 months. This sweet angel is growing so fast and I am loving every minute of it. I sometimes go to bed at night and think about our days together-did I read to her, did I tell her how amazing she is to me, was there something that stuck out as my "favorite part" of the day. Just little things that remind me to stop and soak up this time-it's going by almost TOO fast.

So, Paxi at 20 months:

Unfortunately, I have no measurements to report at this time. She doesn't frequent the Dr. much, so I won't know a weight/height until she goes for her 2 year check-up, if we aren't there before then! Someone commented the other day how she didn't have a baby face anymore-it broke my heart! I'm sure they were referring to her loss of baby fat, but it still has me looking at her every other minute, wondering where that little baby went.

Her vocabulary at this point is amazing. I really can't think of anything that she CAN'T say! She is starting to form little mini sentences and I know she will be putting multiple words together before I know it. She is big into her manners-most of the time-and her famous words these days are, "thank you, mama." It is THE sweetest thing she says-and everyone is mama. LOL! Cody will get her a juice or my mom will do something for her and her response is always, "thank you, mama." Too sweet.I started just the other day working on teaching her full name. I will get a video of this soon-its precious.

She is still going to her once a week MDO class and from what I hear, loving it. She has started crying when I go to leave her, but I always get a good report that she forgets about me just as soon as I leave! She is a sweetheart to her friends and probably just assumes I leave her there to take care of all the other kids. She is extremely nurturing and in control. (I don't know anyone remotely like that.)

She's also developed herself a good little run! Chasing her around our house or Nannie's is one of her favorite new games. She thinks she is SO fast and runs like a total penguin. I am ready for the weather to change so we can get outside and learn to ride her new trike. She's also really gotten into being sneaky-which just cracks us up. She almost wants you to come see what she is doing, so she can run off-goofy goofy. She likes to shut her door, which we don't allow, and peek out to see if we are coming to get her. Its sometimes so hard to get onto her if I have to because she is so dang funny when she is being a mess!

The potty is still a foreign concept and I'm not pushing it. I would love to go full force with it, but its gonna be on her terms, not mine.

This age is incredibly fun right now, I can't imagine it being any better-which is what makes it that much more exciting-it keeps getting better!!

Happy 20 Months Lambie!! :)

That groundhog wasn't lyin'

because it snowed again!! This was at about 3:00 and we were at about 5 inches. Not sure what the final total will be-its still snowing as I type.

don't you just love her snow bunny couture?!

SNACK PLEASE!!

We ventured out-just to get out and avoid total cabin fever-over to Nannie and Poppy's. Pax still apparently hates snow-so she played inside...

while daddy built her a snowman!

=)

I HOPE this is the last snow, but I said that about the last one, so who knows. Six more weeks of winter is definitely here.

Winter Blues

I, as previously mentioned, HATE winter. I love to be outside, with Pax, and I know she does, too. BUT-until it warms up, we have resorted to all kinds of indoor activities.

Play dough!

(I realize the gross color of the dough-she mixes the colors together...)

A little time for her Twitter peeps...

Baby-time

(she's still a baby to ME!)

such a good mommy

Train time.

Well, you get the idea. We are exhausting all resources around here to stay busy. I LIVE for Thursdays, so Pax can go to school and play and get some social interaction in. I wish there were more mommies with kids her age that I knew around here. Play dates would be a great thing for us in between MDO days.

She's still her same silly self though-
=)

Snow Day (Twenty Ten) / Hodge Podge Post

I'm a little behind on blogging the big snow event we had here, but these are the last minute shots I got with my camera.

We finally got a GOOD snow! I, personally, hate snow, but Cody loves it and wanted Pax to go out in it. She screamed. :(

What can I say-she comes by the beach baby gene naturally. =) I think she will enjoy sticking inside with me on days like this and baking.

I think the final total for us was around 5-7 in. Which, for us SOUTHERN people, is a LOT.

But at least daddy was happy! Paxtin made it about 10 minutes after this and screamed for inside. =)

These next shots I have had just stored away-forgetting to upload them-sometimes remembering that I need to be taking more pictures! :( I haven't been in a blogging mood-with the molars cutting in and just a generally crabby baby. I haven't had much motivation in the blogging/photography areas. I'm getting better and more into it. I know as soon as the weather warms up, I will want to get out and do more.

This is just pure Paxi silliness!

Dancing with her great-grandma...

I also discovered a fun place that Pax and I could go and burn off some MUCH needed exercise. We went over to the local college and I let her run. a. muck. She had a blast and I think we made it around the entire Colosseum about 2 times-which for her, was an accomplishment!

I think until it warms up, we will be coming back again to run around and burn off some of our cooped up cabin fever. SPRING has GOT to get here. :(
I hope to be up for more blogging. Just haven't been in the mood-hope it strikes me here soon!
