First off, I am blogging from my phone. My mom's computer once again died, so I am behind on a very important post! So, I can't upload a cute pic-if I figure out how to do it from my blackberry, I will go in and re-add it.
So, in 2 short months I will have a little lady of 2 and 1/2. It's surreal. I almost forget just how big she's gotten until I'm reminded in a store or out somewhere what a beautiful girl I have. Not a baby, not a toddler, or a 'little one', but a girl! It just seems to fly by faster each month and I'm scared I won't remember this age. I try to soak up every funny quote, embarrassing tantrum, and sweet cuddles and kisses I can. I know before too long those things will be long gone.
We are still completely unsuccessful on the potty. She knows all about it, every detail. She even sits for her teachers at MDO. So she's not afraid of it, she's just too busy to want to mess with it. I remind her all the wonderful treats she can have for going and remind her often to try it out and she just doesn't want to. Her words exactly. No, mommy. Not right now. Her doc said 2and 1/2 is when they even begin to get interested, but I can't help but feel like I'm failing. We talk about her friends who use the potty in the classroom and she's very observant of them-just not taking the leap. I've been very successful at every transition I've made with her, this one gets to me. I try to remain confident and block out comments that are not constructive. We'll get there-no diapers-one day. Just in time for baby #2 I'm sure. :)
In every other way I sometimes forget Pax is just two! She's sharp as a tack with this astounding vocabulary. Its the best having a little buddy around to chat with during the day! Her new love is make believe. Cooking, cleaning, changing diapers-shes a one woman clean machine! Accessories have also become a big deal-you will rarely see her without a bracelet of silly band on in a picture. We spend FOR-EVER in the morning choosing which bracelets, hair clips, and shoes are the perfect match. We've got a full blown diva on our hands.
I would have to say her biggest accomplishment at this age is her new found bravery! May seem like a silly thing to cheer for, but she has struggled for a long time with trying new things, taking leaps of faith (swimming pools), and even meeting new people. All that's totally out the window. She has mastered the biggest slide at the park I've ever seen, she tries out new toys and equipment she's never done, and she's making lots of friends-both at MDO and with other buddies. I'm so proud of this independence. I thought it just might never come!
Pax is reciting her abc's, counting to 15, singing countless songs and reciting nursery rhymes. She's so smart, we have to stay one step ahead of her!!
Happy 28 months Lambie!!
