Pool Day

Pax got a new pool for the summer. Today was the perfect day to try it out. She was a little unsure at first, but it didn't take her long to fall in love.

It's not a water fountain, Boo.

Yeah!!

Lake House Weekend

For Memorial Day weekend we decided to head up to Cody's step-dad and mom's lake house on Table Rock Lake. They have a beautiful house there, perfect for enjoying an outdoor weekend. I was really excited for P, it was going to be her first time 'swimming.' But, of course, it rained. The whole weekend. I was so bummed. Hopefully, we can get back soon and get out on the water. But not all fun was lost!

Paxtin's 1st birthday is right around the corner and the celebrations have officially begun. While we were all together in MO for the weekend, we had a little party for Pax with her MiMi and Poppy T. She is so blessed to have amazing people in her life that love her so much. She got some awesome gifts. I can't wait to set up her new swimming pool when it finally quits raining. I think she is going to love it.

Here's the birthday princess.

She couldn't wait to attack her Mickey Mouse cake.

And share it with everyone!!

She loved it.

I think her favorite present was her Mickey Mouse train. (She hearts Mickey...can you tell?)

She's still not sure about actually riding it...

but, it plays some killer tunes and she is sure about good tunes and dancing.

It was so good to get together with our family and I know Pax enjoys new adventures. We are blessed with such a happy baby who enjoys going everywhere we drag her!

Our friends Courtney and Cady are in town from Houston this week, so we have some fun planned with them. Can't wait to get the girls together again!!

It's starting to sink in...

Just how far we've come...

This was me 2 days before I gave birth.

I'm starting to feel a little nostalgic with Paxtin's first birthday approaching. Just bare with me. These are just a few of my favorite pics over the last 11 months.

We are headed to the lake for Memorial ay weekened. Praying for sun and no rain! Pic to follow!

Big Things Poppin

Lots of changes around here!

First, Pax is completely off the bottle. I know, I'm as shocked as you are. I had managed to cut her down to 2 a day, with a sippy in the middle. I figured I might as well try the sippy at morning (or night), just so she started getting used to it. She took it and never once cried. She went all day with no bottle, just using her sippies. I packed those suckers up as fast as I could and headed out to buy tons of new sippy cups!! Now if I could only get her to HOLD the sippy cup....

Second, she's standing. Not without help, but she is pushing up to standing on her own. I have noticed that she pushes up better than she pulls up. I missed the first time she did it...which happen to be in the tub...but, I caught her again as she was helping with the dishwasher.

She's still a little unsure...

And not quite sure what to do next, but she's getting there!

I may have a walking baby by her first birthday!!

11 Months Old

Paxtin is 11 months old. I can hardly believe it. One more month and my sweet Lambie will be a year old. It hasn't been year yet has it?? Too much.

So, Paxtin at 11 months:

She isn't walking, yet. She is crawling now at super-human speeds and pauses to push up on her toes from her hands. Kinda like a bear crawl. She pulls up with our help and enjoys 'cruising' around while holding our hands. She finds new things around the house to get into every day. But its also kind of nice. Chores around the house are kinda fun. She follows behind me and “helps” with the folding of laundry and also unloading the dishwasher. She is fascinated with that thing. Let me tell you, she is a big help, too.

She is starting to move to more normal foods. She inhaled an entire pancake at our breakfast for dinner last night. She loves fruits and tomatoes and pretty much anything else she can feed herself. She is too dangerous with utensils, so she is still using her hands for now. I haven't found anything she doesn't like yet and I'm hoping this continues. I have (sort of) cut out the afternoon bottle. She is now taking most of it in a sippy. Morning and night bottles are still a must...not sure how I am going to cut those completely yet.

She can now say a few little words. "hi and bye" are her best. "Dada" is also in there, too. Not sure we are fully saying "mama" yet, but she is trying. It is more of a whine when I get it. She also loves to dance and sing. A lot. She watches one episode of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse every morning and laughs and sings right along with them. Her favorite song is the Itsy, Bitsy, Spider-still working on all the moves there.

She is growing so fast and I am trying to take it all in. For every bad day here and there, there are always many more fun, rewarding, and amazing days to remember.

My 1st Official Mother's Day

Some of the best things in life are the simple things. My mother's day weekend was not elaborate or extravagant, but it was perfect.

Cody & Pax got me a manicure/pedicure and the sweetest little card. Even Pax 'signed' it. =)
I can't wait to sneak away for my pampering session.

Saturday we decided we wanted to have breakfast for dinner, so we went to Cracker Barrel. The food was so yummy and we also discovered that Pax is a BIG FAN of pancakes. Go figure. Here she is in between bites...beating on the table.

Today was a relaxed day at home. Playing and just enjoying each other's company. We joined my mom and dad for dinner and I got some way cute stuff. Like my snazzy new scarf.

Me and my mommy.

And the one person who makes my job so worthwhile....

Hope all you deserving mommies had a wonderful Mother's Day!

Shake-a, shake-a, shake-a

Even if she was only happy for a minute, she was happy. And she loves her new instrument. However, we are going to have to work on waving bye to the camera.

(Please, one again, excuse my sad excuse for a singing voice.)

I have to apologize for being such a terrible blogger. Cody was sick all last week and Pax caught a tiny bit of what he had. AND, I think she is teething on top of that. Needless to say, I didn't have much time. BUT-I'm back in the blogging mood again. Hooray!

I am working on my Mother's Day/weekend post and also Paxtin's 11 month pictures.
