the 'Lambie' & the 'Cupcake'

Pax & I have met up with my good friend Courtney and her baby Cady several times, but Paxi was never quite able to get a good look at Cadence. Until now...

Pax is finally sitting in a highchair and her & Cady got well acquainted over breakfast.

I stole some of Court's awesome shots. Here's P being silly...

And Cady being the cutie cupcake she is.

Oh...if looks could kill.

Aren't they just the cutest??

They are so sweet. I hope they will be great friends one day. If only they lived closer!!

Crazy Christmas...Part Two

Christmas is officially over and we are done traveling, as a family, for AWHILE!!

We have lots of excitement to look forward to in the new year, including a long overdue mommy/daddy get-a-way ski trip. Yeah-I'm actually gonna leave her this time...

; )

Here are some pics from our final Christmas celebration this weekend in Branson. Sorry there are so many of me.

P was a little unsure...

but she wanted to make sure her daddy was catching this!

I think paper would have done just fine, too.

Isn't this the face of an angel?!

Look at how close she is to sitting up. Just one little wobble here or there. She also started some serious rocking this weekend while she was laying on her belly. She is sooo close to getting up on those knees and taking off. Leaving me in a cloud of dust and nerves behind her.

We got to go out for Cody's birthday also while we were there. He is a Christmas Eve baby, which I think is horrible. He doesn't mind, I guess.

Paxi got to experience the wonderful world of restaurant highchairs. I bought a really neat cover for such occasions and the thing got soaked on the ride up to Branson. Don't ask.

She was a little less than thrilled that everyone was too busy to hold her.

Crazy Christmas...Part One

When your husband works for UPS, you learn to be prepared for anything.

Our usual Christmas was unexpectedly derailed this year. We had planned to be in Siloam for Christmas Eve and spend the night. I was packed and ready to go and was just waiting for the call from Cody to let me know he was done delivering. I waited...and waited...and he never called.
Finally, at around 6, he calls to tell me he's finished. There was no way we were going to make it up to Siloam. Cody was so upset...it was also his 27th birthday. So, while he was busting his ass delivering, I was at my parents celebrating Christmas. I am so sad that he missed Paxi opening up her 1st Christmas presents.
Paxi on the other hand...had a blast!

She enjoyed sitting at the table with everyone!

Oh-and the pile of presents!

Since Cody wasn't there, I had to help P unwrap and get the pics. I managed to get a few with her new prizes.

This is here new stage that she practices all her rockstar moves in.

It was good to spend Christmas Eve in Russellville. I haven't done it since I met Cody.
I think my grandpa was pretty happy too! He's completely over the moon for P.

And Uncle Jordan loves his Paxi, too.

So, since we missed Christmas Eve and morning with Cody,s family-we traveled up there Christmas Day for brunch. I, OF COURSE, forgot my camera-so I missed all those pics of P. We really had no Christmas morning pics. So, next year-I've really gotta make it up. She really wasn't even aware it was Christmas anyways. She got some awesome gifts, though. I can't wait to set up her kitchen!!
We are traveling up to Branson, for sure, tomorrow morning for our third and final Christmas, so I will post those pics soon. I won't forget the camera!!

Jump Around

We're home...for now...from Branson. We will be leaving for Siloam tomorrow after Cody gets off work and then heading back to Branson this weekend. We should give Paxtin a giant gold star for being such a trooper while we drag her all over creation.

This past trip, she did awesome. She finally discovered sleeping in the car is a good thing and was sooo good while we shopped all day Saturday and Sunday. I'm so happy all of our shopping is wrapped up and also glad that Aunt Laci is such a good wrapper...

Pax was also a big help...as you can see!

I have a feeling wrapping paper may be a bigger hit than anything.
We were able to give Paxi her first gift this weekend. Her MiMi and Poppa T got her the highly anticipated rain forest jumperoo...

And she loves it. She also loves her daddy jumping around making monkey noises along with it...

Green Beans and Dirty Santa

Lot going on! But, that's the holidays and we are just as busy as ever.

Pax now has tooth #1 and tooth #2 is right behind it. I thought maybe there might be a tiny break in between each one, but apparently that's not going to be the case. The poor thing is miserable again and I can only pray that this tooth makes a speedy debut.

So the first tooth appears and we bust out the teething biscuits.

Too bad P's pediatrician banned them at her last visit. Choking hazard.

Speaking of the Ped., I took Pax in for her 6 month check-up and shots. It all went relatively smooth-she weighed in at almost 16 lbs. and she's still 25" long. Her doctor placed her in the 50% percentile and said that she is doing very well developmentally and physically. I had lots of questions this time. Mainly, her spit up problem. The kid could be in the next Exorcist.
Apparently, what's going in-isn't coming out fast enough...if you catch my drift. Pax now gets a tiny dose of Milk of Magnesia every morning in her bottle. Not sure how long I can hold out on this though...it really makes her GO. It still gives me chills to think about. I've since tossed 2 pairs of jammies.
I also asked him about the 'crying it out.' And of course, to my dismay, he told me to let her do it. Not necessarily at nap, but at night for sure. I have gotten better about it, but it still breaks my heart. I want her to learn to put herself to sleep though...so, I have no other choice.

So, she got her shots on Friday and Saturday we load her up and take her to Siloam Springs for Dirty Santa...a big Lawlis tradition. (I know, we totally win parents of the year.)
And surprise, surprise, P DID NOT sleep in the way up and was just a ball of fun come party time. Everyone wanted their picture made with her...
mommy & daddy....

And Bambi....

And Bambi and Grandpa Brian...who Pax is, for some reason, SOOO afraid of. I think it is the 'stache.

So...we get to the party and she cries at everyone who looks at her. I know, I was so proud. She managed to come around and let a few people hold her.
Halle loves her Paxi so much!

And Becky does, too!

Here we are trying to get her to laugh...or even smile.
She was more into the wrapping paper.
And bubble wrap!
And, as exciting as the party was...she just couldn't hang on any longer. She fell asleep with Becky. Poor Lambie!!
Cody and I continued our tradition of walking away with the worst possible gifts of the night-me with a GIANT sparkling, glitter covered apple and he with a Hanna Montana wall mirror. We rule at Dirty Santa.
Hopefully, next year will be more fun for her. She is just still so little and is possibly the world's worst traveler.
Finally, I thought that Monday would be a great day to start Paxi on her food. We got the go ahead from Neylon and away we went. First up-green beans.

She's still not sure...but, they weren't a complete disaster.

She's just got to figure out how to operate that tongue!!
This weekend we will be in Branson-finishing up our Christmas lists and visiting more family. Round 2 for Paxtin vs. the Road!!
Should be fun.

Hairbrush Tactics

Today is Paxi's 6 month Birthday. Once again, she is the MOST difficult baby to take pictures of...so don't look for a smile in these shots.

Isn't she just the cutest?!?

This was our hardest shoot yet. She has discovered the sign and refuses to leave it alone for more than a second.

She also refuses to look at the camera either. A.D.D.?!?!

I even threw in a hairbrush to distract her.

I am sooo enjoying this time of year with her and using all the decorations for cute pictures. She really likes her Poppy's tree.

Finally, since we are at the 1/2 way point in P's first year (can't believe I am typing that), I thought we could take a look back.

As you can see, smiling for the camera hasn't been her thing from the start. She's spontaneous...just like her mommy.

She has changed in so many amazing ways and continues to make our lives amazing to live. Six months has definitely gone by entirely way too fast, but I'm so excited for the next six, as well.

HAPPY 1/2 BIRTHDAY, LAMBIE!
