Branson Weekend

Just a few pics from Branson this weekend...

We had a very relaxing weekend...just what we needed. Cody golfed and Pax, Aunt Laci, MiMi, & I went shopping. It is still between seasons and I didn't see quite what I was looking for, for me or Pax, but once the weather cools off, I'm sure I will be more into some Fall stuff.

It was great to get away and we love going to Branson. We have another busy week of showing the house again-and Pax and I are going to be outside as much as possible...summer has taken a brief leave of absense this week and the weather is supposed to be NICE. We might even get to walk before 8:30 at night. =)

Morning toons

are best when you are completely comfy. =)

Yesterday, Pax & I got a surprise visit from Bambi, who was in town for a meeting. Pax enjoyed seeing her and was quite surprised I think!

We are off to Branson for the weekend to do some shopping and family visiting. Have a great weekend everyone.

"Drew"...PIG SOOIE!

Pax has been quite the social butterfly this month and it seems we have been on the go all the time. If she were just a better car rider...

Today was sweet baby Drew's 1st birthday party, so we had to go help him celebrate. It was a Razorback Tailgate party and Pax was all ready with her new Hogs gear.

The cute set-up...LOOOVE his canvas!

I had to show off the bloomers I had made. =)

The boys in their jerseys.

Pax & I with the the birthday boy and his momma, Ashley.

We ended our night with a trip to see my PeePaw at the hospital and dinner at Juanita's. My PeePaw seemed in good spirits and extremely happy to see Paxtin. She layed her head on his hospital pillow and kissed him over and over. I know she misses him as much as we all do. He should be moving back to the hospital in our town, so we are all so happy.

And here's Pax dancing to the music in Junaita's. SOOOO my baby.

Show Us Your Life-Baby Showers

Kelly's Korner is one of my favorite blogs to read and every week she hosts a blog tour:

This week's theme is baby showers.

I am beyond blessed with some amazing friends and ended up having three baby showers. Crazy, I know. Paxtin is one loved little girl...even before anyone even knew her.

This was my first shower that my friends Natalie, Lindsey, Ashley, & Tasha threw for me at Nat's house. They had that super cute canvas hand painted for me, YUMMY monogrammed sugar cookies with Paxi's initials, and of course petit fours. I have to add a disclaimer to ALL these photos: I look hideous...and GROSSLY pregnant.

Me with the hostesses.

The table of goodies and the cute canvas. I thought this canvas made the best hostess gift. It could be displayed for everyone to see at the shower and then I took it home and hung it in Paxtin's nursery.

With two of my best friends, Tasha & Ashley.

With Natalie.

This was my 2nd shower that was thrown for me at the preschool I was working at. The kids were SO excited to bring in all their presents for me and they all wanted to tell me what they got for my baby's "birthday!" Here I am with the cake...

and this is one of my favorite shots. All those precious faces anxiously awaiting to see what I am going to pull out of the package! They were a little disappointed when it was a bunch of diapers and powder. LOL!

I have no pictures from my third shower...probably because I was around 38 weeks and banned any photos of myself.

So, I added this table from my friend Ashley's shower. Her friend, Kim threw her the shower and even made this awesome diaper cake. We were all pretty impressed! She used cute little die-cut animals and I loved the initials.

And just for fun, this is me, my momma, and Pax at Ashley's baby shower. Pax was a teeny, weeny 2 months here...sooooo sweet.

Now...it's your turn! Have any baby shower pics/ideas??

Boys & Crafting

Scout and Jett were next door this week at their Nan's house, so we thought we would stop in to say hello.

Here is sweet Scout-saying HELLO!

Paxtin doing what she does best...stuffing herself into little spaces.

An attempt to get a picture with Pop. Scout and Jett were ready, but Paxtin's poor little shoe was coming off and she was not happy. Such the girl.

Just hanging out with her buddies. I have recently noticed that all of our baby friends are boys!! I don't think it is going to affect Pax though, she is 110% girl.

I feel like this past week has been so crazy around here. As I mentioned earlier, we are trying to move and just put out our official 'For Sale' sign out yesterday. We have shown the house twice and I am exhausted from trying to keep the house spotless. Hopefully, this will not be a long, drawn out process for us...it stresses me out!

Our family also grew by one more this week!! My cousin had her sweet baby, Mylah, on Wednesday. She weighed 7 pounds and is just perfect. I can't wait for her to get older and become Paxtin's best buddy. Oh, the trouble those two will cause. ; )

Unfortunately, for every happy moment, there is usually a sad one. My PeePaw suffered a stroke this week and had to be moved into ICU at a hospital an hour away. It was just such a terrible, unexpected thing and we honestly weren't sure if he was going to make it through. BUT-he is now out of ICU and has begun therapy at the hospital. He can talk somewhat, but his arm and leg are still pretty useless right now. Keep our family in your prayers & thoughts. We love him and want him home soon.

So, I'll end on a happy note. I have a new hobby. I am, by no means, a sewer, but, I adore smocked children's clothing and thought I would give it a shot. And honestly, it isn't that hard (so far!). I am enjoying making this little dress for Pax-which will be for the upcoming Fall season. I like the idea of making heirlooms that she can pass to her kids one day. Here's my work so far...

I'll share the finished product as soon as I get time to finish it!

We have a busy weekend, with a birthday party and a visit to see my PeePaw. I'd like to go see a movie, but that just might be asking too much. HA! =)

I can't believe it...

but Paxtin just stood right up!! We were sitting in the floor playing and she just popped right up and stood there looking at me with the most amazing look on her face. I have never seen her so excited and PROUD of herself! She can stand longer each time she tries and I can feel a step or two coming...even though she still wants to hold onto my fingers. I have been so worried about her not walking yet, but today confirmed to me that she will do what she wants, when she wants. And apparently today, she was ready. Now if I can just control my screaming and clapping each time she stands, she might not fall over so much. I scared her to death the first time she got up. LOL! Oh, I'm one encouraging momma. ; )

Lazy Girl

I love surprises...don't you??

Paxi got the best surprise from her Poppy last night. Her very own PINK recliner!! I know that we got the rocker down for her to use for her t.v. chair, but who could resist this fabulous find? Obviously, Pax was very excited about the new addition.

"It even has a cup holder! OMG!!"

No one wanted to make her get out...she was in love from the moment she saw it. The only problem is making her stay on her little booty. She has become quite the little climber.

All ready to call those Hogs...WOOOoooooOOOOO....PIG SOOOOIE!

=)

Spaghetti Face

There's nothing Nannie's spaghetti can't cure. What teething baby?!?

Time to wash

Once a Pre-K teacher, always a Pre-K teacher! I suppose that my mind will always be geared toward children friendly activities and crafts, games and songs. Paxtin will just have to learn to deal with me singing her a made up song to every move she makes. ; )

Today's activity? Scrubbing the table. I did this with a class I had a few years ago, but we used large rubber maid buckets with soapy water, they wore old kitchen gloves (SOOOO cute) and they washed the fake dishes and kitchen food. This was an impromptu decision by me, but Pax had a ball. I think next time, we will try it outside though...and I am going to get her some more little dishes to wash, too.

Here we are scrubbing our tea set.

Working hard on that table!

The scrubby brush was way more exciting...

Such a busy little girl.

We then dried the table together, but I have no shots of this because she was screaming due to the fact that I took away the scrubby brush. I think I've got a potential dish washer on my hands...I hope. ; )
