Spontaneous Saturday

So, instead of sitting around out house and staring at each other, we took advantage of the great (ish) weather and went to Mt. Magazine State Park south of Paris, Arkansas. It was quite a long drive, but Pax did great and we had so much fun. There was a neat little visitors center where we checked out some little exhibits and then went to the overlooks. Pax was in heaven just to be outside. And we all know that whatever makes her happy...

Pax & daddy checking out the view.

I think she's a fan of her daddy...

Me, P, & the wind.

My two favorite people in the whole world.

Hooray, for self-timers!
My beautiful family.

I'm hoping it doesn't rain the rest of the weekend, but it isn't looking to promising. At least we got in some sunshine today!

A Day in the Life

I may not have a 'paying career', but I guarantee you I work just as hard. No one ever said staying home all day with a baby wouldn't be eventful.

She swings....

she attempts to destroy plants...

she smiles for the camera...

discovers the door stopper....

and likes it.

She chases down all the animals...

all. day.

And she even uses my clothes to play a game of peekaboo.

But most important, she makes my days happy and that's the best part.

Who wears short shorts...

Paxi does!!
Hooray for warm weather and summer clothes! I wanted to get a picture of this little Happy Earth outfit Pax wore for Earth Day, but of course, she had better things to do.
She is very interested in pulling up, so I assisted her in her efforts.
And she stayed up long enough for me to get a pic. Her face is too funny. "I'm up!!"

She wanted to make sure I was getting it...

And then she crashed. This is her angry face.

It won't be long before she is doing this all on her own. She really enjoys getting up and then scoping out her feet below. I may have started something I might regret...

Baby Booty Bop

Looks like someone got my dancin' shoes. (can't you just see this booty in a tutu one day soon??!)

I Heart Spring Dresses

There is just nothing sweeter than a Spring dress. And the weather finally warmed up enough to where we could get out and go for walks again and play in the yard...

but, Pax is apparently not a huge fan of grass.

So, we moved to the concrete and all was fine. UNTIL...the leaf tried to attack her. Nature may not be her thing, and I can't say I blame her.
(Sorry this is sideways. I took it with my camera...)

Paxtin got some wonderful new toys for Easter from MiMi and Poppy T. Her favorite, and mine, is her pink singing purse. It comes complete with giant lipstick and a mirror and she's obsessed. The mirror is NEVER far from her sight...and even goes in her crib with her at nap time.

And she is also loving her new singing cookie jar. These are great toys for her right now because she is really into putting things into something and then taking them all out again.

She's such a busy body.
We are also still really loving the Easter basket and eggs. Who knew this would be such a hit. I should have bought a basket full of eggs a long time ago. Don't be surprised to see this basket in future pictures...in December.

Basket full of fun

Paxtin's first Easter was a success. Not a lot of action, since there isn't much you can do as far as egg hunting with a crawler. BUT-she got lots of goodies/toys/plastic eggs.

We had a great time in Branson. Visiting family is always so fun and we are so blessed.

10 Months Old

Double digits, people. This cannot be happening.

So...as a 10 month old:

Paxtin is into everything. She spends most of her days just crawling all over our house, finding new stuff to get into. She looks like Pigpen at the end of everyday, but that is what bath time is for right?! It is so weird to have to scrub dirt off her knees. She is also this close to pulling up. I think if she wasn't such a chunky monkey, it would be a tad easier for her to stand. She's getting there, though.

She is growing and changing daily and is such a bright baby. She is really into copying us and has a couple animal noises that she has perfected. My favorite, by far, is the lion...when she does it. Working on catching it on video.

She loves to play with her Laugh and Learn kitchen...crawling from front to back, opening and closing the fridge. I hope she loves to cook...she can teach me a thing or two. HA. We also play with her collection of baby dolls...putting them to sleep, diapering them. I'm sure Pax thinks I've lost my marbles. Oh well, playing is FUN!

She is eating three meals a day in her highchair and I am introducing new foods daily. The kid loves to eat. I guess she really is Cody's child!! Tomatoes, cheese, pickles...you name it. If I put it on her tray, it is totally fair game. Which, I guess is a good thing. No picky eater here. She is down to three bottles and I am ready to cut them completely. I think we will slowly start transitioning one bottle at a time to a sippy. She already uses them for juice/water, so hopefully it won't be too traumatic.

Happy 10 Months to my sweet girl.

We are off to Branson for the weekend. Pictures to follow!

Happy Easter!

Here Comes Peter Cottontail...

Paxtin's first visit with the Easter Bunny.

I'm very surprised there were no tears, so I'm o.k. with no smile. She was so scared, but sat there like a big girl. Next year definatley won't be so easy.

We are spending Easter weekend in Branson and I can't wait to give Pax her basket. Lots of little toys and plastic eggs. Perfect for chewing on!

Little Red Baby Swing

If you can't find a swing...get your own!

Nannie and Poppy got Paxi a snazzy, new red swing for their house. Today was a GORGEOUS day, so I had Uncle Jordan hang it for us so we could try it out. She wasn't quite sure at first
And I honestly think it made her sleepy, but she got into it. She used to love her sweet little baby swing and would often nap in it. I'm sure there will be MANY hours spent in this swing this spring/summer.

Thank you Nannie & Poppy.

Splish Splash...

she's finally in the bath!! No more kitchen sink, infant tub, or giant inflatable scary pink duck.

Check out that hair...

Yes, her nose is a tad orange. Lots of veggies I suppose?!

Yeah Paxi!

Holy Bubbles, Batman

The problem of bubble blowing/picture taking has been solved! Uncle Jordan brought Paxi a cool bubble machine.

She really got into it!

Spending time with Nannie is always a favorite!

I think we are going to meet the Easter Bunny today...hopefully, that goes ok!

=)

I dare you not to laugh

Is there any sweeter sound in the whole wide world?!

Also, a quick update on our napping situation. So far, so good! When she doesn't wake up at the crack of dawn, she is able to stay up until lunch and then go down for about an hour and a half to two hours in the afternoon. However, the days she wakes up extra early, I have to give her a morning nap. So, she is getting it...slowly, but surely. And I can't even describe how happy and energetic she is after getting a good stretch of sleep like that. AWESOME!
