cold weather fun
These past couple of weeks have been so bitterly cold, forcing Pax and I to stay inside all day, most days. If it were up to Paxtin, she would choose to sit and watch Dora or Diego all day...which, drives me batty! I got a little smarter this year with her Christmas toys and actually packed a few away before she really got to tear into them. I was hoping this would work and she would be excited to see the "new" toys when some of her others had been played to death.
And it did! Santa brought her a few games this year, so Saturday we got one out : Elefun. When I taught preschool in the past, I had this game in my classroom and the kids would ask to play it ANY time we had a free minute. They loved it. So, when I saw it at Toys R Us, I had to get it. I wasn't sure if Pax was old enough to play, but she ended up LOVING it. =) Cody had to show her how to do it, of course. Once she got the hang of it, she loved it.

I think she played Elefun for an hour straight!! Earlier that day Cody had taken Pax to an early daddy/daughter breakfast, so she got a little frustrated with the game-having been up so long!
Today the cold finally let up and it was actually kind of "warm." ; )
Pax got a lot of outdoor toys this year, also for Christmas. She got a little princess coupe and a new Dora big wheel. She's still getting used to driving the princess car-I think it kind of startles her when she presses the gas! It's hilarious to watch her-she always ends up in the grass! We have to work on steering.

She loved the Dora big wheel! It's so cute-playing music and making little turning signal sounds. It's a fun alternative to an actual bike, which she isn't quite ready for yet.

We had a very low-key, relaxing weekend-just what I like!!

time machine wednesday
While I love a good 'wordless wednesday' post, today I thought I would change it up and do something different. I got to looking at my photo albums last night, mostly of Paxtin when she was first born..(baby craving, much??) and I then thought I would go back and look at some of my old blog posts from this time last year...and even from the year before that.
This was Paxtin this week exactly a year ago.
http://lambiebabyp.blogspot.com/2010/01/bubbles-bubblesin-your-hair.html
She's got such a sweet little BABY face! I hardly remember her being so little. Which is why I want to take the time weekly to do so. :)
This post was from this week TWO years ago. My oh my what a difference a couple of years makes.

Love watching her when she was so tiny!! I think my baby fever is really starting to kick into overdrive. ;)

snow day!!
If you know me...you know I am NOT a fan of winter. I hate the cold and especially hate yucky winter weather. So, of course, January reared its ugly head yesterday and dumped a few inches of snow on us. It could have been worse and even though I was trapped in the house all day, I couldn't think of a better snowed in buddy. :)
I bit the bullet for P and we got out in the snow for a few minutes. Unfortunately, P shares in my feelings about the cold. My little delicate flower didn't make it long out there, but we did get some cute pictures. That's what it's all about right??
:)

I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to get her back inside once we were out there-she took to it MUCH better than last year. But, the promise of snowman sugar cookies was way too hard to pass up!

Hopefully all this 'fun' is gone by tomorrow!!

hello 2011 and 31 months old
So, ONE of my New Year's resolutions was to be a better blogger/photographer. I used to be SO crazy about getting a picture of everything Pax did/said/accomplished...and I've sadly just fell off in that department. I'm not sure why I got so lazy! It makes me sad to see how few pictures I have from the past couple of months. SO-prepare yourselves for some major photo dumping this month and hopefully ALL year. :) I started this blog for her, to scrapbook her life and I owe it to her to keep it updated.
What better day to start a fresh blogger attitude than with Paxi's 31 month post!!
Paxtin at 31 months:
**Last trip to the doctor, Paxtin was 3 feet exactly and weighed in at about 33 pounds. It's so funny for her to stand next to me because her head comes right to my hip. I am not a tall person, by any means, so I am almost positive Paxtin is going to be MUCH taller than me one day. Kind of crazy to imagine!! She has her daddy's long and lanky body-better than being a shrimp, like me, I suppose. :)
**Potty training is going well. I won't say she is totally trained (or anywhere really close), but she is taking time out to go and sit on the potty all by herself. She is also now sitting on the potty at her school which is a HUGE step. Before Christmas, I was starting to think she would never go at school, she was so afraid-but, she just went for it one day and any progress is good progress. :) I had to once again shut my brain off as to what other kids her age are accomplishing or doing. We'll get there!
**Singing and dancing are her most favorite things to do. She will dance anywhere, anytime. And recently has started serenading everyone in the house...LONG after it's time for her to be asleep. ;) She's just a total goofball and we LOVE it.
We love you to the moon Lambie Boo. HAPPY 31 MONTHS!!

The best of 2010
I wanted to do a year-end post of all the major events of 2010-and also all the cute pictures. =) It was fun to look back and remember all the stuff we did in 2010...i had forgot a lot of these!
2010 in review:
January 2010-Paxtin turned 19 months old and had actually just started walking about 2 months before!! My little late bloomer finally decided to take off and get to movin'.
January was also an exciting month for P because she started MDO one day a week.

I couldn't have asked for a better reaction to school. She LOVED it. It was such a relief to be able to leave her with people who loved her as much as I do.
February 2010-Paxtin was 20 months old and really started looking more like a toddler. The baby face Lambie was pretty much gone. =(

This month also brought a pretty decent snow. Pax enjoyed looking at the snow, from the INSIDE, but as soon as we took her out, she screamed and whined the whole time. I was lucky to get a picture of her out there-she refused to let us put her down though!

March 2010- Paxtin was now 21 months old and SUCH a joy. She had really started coming into her personality and she's just hilarious.

so silly!!
April 2010-This month in 2010 brought lots of changes for all of us. We sold our first house that we had lived in since we were married 5 years ago. We bought a new, bigger house-BUT, it wasn't ready to move into. It needed lots of work and improvements. Since we couldn't live in it while we remodeled it, we had to move in with my parents. It was an interesting few months!
Easter fell in April this year, so we of course had to pay a visit to the Easter Bunny! Santa the year before went TERRIBLE, so I expected this to be just as bad.

But, she surprised me! She loved the Easter Bunny. Go figure...
Also, Pax turned 22 months in April
May 2010-When I went back to look at my posts from May, I was shocked at how busy we were!! We were still living with my parents and apparently wanted some time out of the house. ; )
Pax and I met my friend Ashley at a neat play area called THE WONDER PLACE. Lots of make believe, dress-up and hands-on fun. Paxtin LOVED it. We've even been back a couple of times since then.

As it warmed up, we started spending more time outside. We even had a car wash!!

My favorite memory was our trip to the zoo for Mother's Day. We had a blast and I can't wait to go back with Cody & Pax.

And finally here's Paxi's 23 month picture-

June 2010- Paxtin turned TWO!!
We had a fun party for her at a local jump place. It was such a fun party!

And these are just a couple of pics that I like. =)

July 2010-
Just a few random pictures from the month.

August 2010- Paxtin moved up to the 2 year old room at school and I think she was a little nervous about it at first. New teachers and a few different kids, but she easily fir in and started to love the change.
Here she is on the first day of school-even though she went all summer. ; )

We also finally moved into our new house!! I blogged about it here:

Paxtin was so excited about her new room and her new big girl bed. This was a huge step for her and she did perfect sleeping in it. Never got out once!! I
