garage sale and golf

I hardly ever get up and around in time to hit garage sales. I wish I were more dedicated to it. Everyone I know finds great stuff. Like my dad-who found this SUPER cute kitchen for Pax over the weekend. He set it up for her and painted her a sign to make it complete.

She loved it.

So, this past weekend we went to Siloam to visit and celebrate my birthday early. Sunday was such a pretty day, Cody asked if we wanted to ride along with him while he played a round of golf. As crazy as it is, I have never been golfing with my husband. We have known each other for 8 1/2 years and I have never once been out on a course with him. Pax had such a great time riding in the cart. You know her and the wind. =)

She even thought she might like to drive.
We will definitely be going out for more golf again.

the apple of my eye

Cody & I decided to go ahead and plan our trip to the apple orchard with Pax. I am so glad we did, it was so much fun. Even though she couldn't walk around on her own, she had a blast with Cody pulling them out of the tree and was of course obsessed with the bag we collected them in. Such a GIRL. =)

She wasn't too excited, however, about daddy eating her apples.

Next up is the pumpkin patch!

the wind beneath her wings

I very rarely drive with my windows down, it just doesn't work well with my hair. ; ) But today the weather was so cool and nice, I rolled P's window down so she could feel the breeze. She flipped. I thought she was upset, but she was actually squealing and screaming with delight. I had no idea she would react like that! So later that night, I had Cody drive so I could get her on film with the windows down.

I love how she tries so hard to keep her eyes open in the wind. And all that hair whippin' around! I think we will be doing lots more days with the windows down before it gets too cold. Apparently, it's a hit.

playground day

Pax & I walked down to the church playground today since the weather was cool and it wasn't raining..finally. I knew they had some baby swings and small slides, so I was hoping Pax would enjoy it.

It was a really interesting setup-there was no pea gravel or sawdust like most playgrounds. This one had millions of tiny little pieces of semi soft rubber. Kind of like turf??! It was so odd to walk in and Pax was fascinated by it. It also made it easier for her to crawl in.

She was brave and tried out the slide...
And even wanted to attempt climbing up it!

She wasn't quite sure about all the leaves everywhere. I was handed all the ones she could collect. Such the tidy little thing. =)

They even had an old school red car that she got in and pushed around a bit.

She did so good walking all the way down to the playground...even if it took us 15 minutes to get there, she was a trooper and did great. I am trying to get in as much walking with her during the day as I can. She still holds my hands but she has really taken a liking to the freedom of walking.

Seat made for me

Pax & I were over at my parents house yesterday afternoon and I found a recipe I wanted to try. I was busy mixing and prepping and reading-Pax was entertaining herself in the pantry, as usual. BUT this time, she decided she needed to be in there, too.

I swear she gets more silly by the day and is always finding somewhere new to stuff herself.

Good thing Nannie loves her (and me ; ) ) so much-that was one trashed pantry after we were done!

MWAH!

This weekend is my birthday celebration with Cody's family and I am excited to see everyone. We haven't been to visit since 4th of July and I know they miss seeing Paxi so much. Cody & I have also arranged a trip to the apple orchard for Pax on our way up, so it should be a fun, busy weekend. =)

Little Miss Chatterbox

It may be interesting around our house during the teenage years...

I can't imagine who she got the gift of gab from. ; )

baby rockstar

Today was our first official class at Kindermusik. Pax & I were so excited to see what fun Ms. Beth had for us today!

While P loved the bells, the jingle beach balls, and even the exercises, her most favorite thing of the day was the drums. She SQUEALED when Ms. Beth got them out. I had no idea she even knew what a drum was, but she immediately began playing it.

I didn't take a TON of pictures like I said I would. I got there and was more concerned with Pax interacting with the children and teacher, making sure she was having a good time. I looked up and it was almost time to go! Tuesdays are going to be a great day for us this year-and I am so happy to be in a FUN music class with P.

Besties

I would like to think that Pax adores spending all day, every day with me, but it becomes quite obvious who she can't get enough of when he's home.

So silly.

I had to add this pic that I took of Pax last week. Like I mentioned, I am obsessed with Fall-everything from the decorations to the clothes. How cute is P in her little overall dress?!

I had big plans to take her apple picking the end of this month, but if she still isn't walking, we will have to shoot for the pumpkin patch instead. Looks like a wagon will be our best friend this Fall, for all our activities. ; )

Princess dress up

When it's rainy and yucky outside, we stick to indoor activites. No errands for us today! Just some good ol girly dress-up time. =)

Thank you Poppy and Nannie for the new tutu. =)

15 months old

Paxi is 15 months old. I can hardly believe it as I type it out. 15 months old. My oh my...

Paxtin at 15 months:

I have actual stats this month. We were at the doctor Tuesday for more shots and a 15 month- well baby check-up. Pax is back into the average 50% percentile on her height and weight. She was 31in. long and weighed in at 22.8 lbs. I still think that 31 in. long for a 15 month old seems far past the "average" category. She dwarfs other babies her age. I hear all the time form complete strangers what a tall baby she is. I was surprised she didn't weight more, but he said her GINORMOUS swollen molars are probably causing her to eat less.

So, the walking is still just not happening. I have let go of all of my worries and anxiety about it and put it in God's hands. She is normal, happy and healthy. She understands the idea of walking-does it all the time with our help and hands-and free stands without holding anything. She just isn't ready. Period. Her doctor isn't worried in the least about her and said that she is perfectly normal and will build enough courage to take off one of these days.

(She always lets me know when she is done with her photo shoots...)

Her vocabulary has really exploded. I love to say words and wait for her to repeat them. She says so many and I love that she is such a good communicator. I do work with her on letting me know when she wants something-instead of just pointing and whining- and, also remind her several times a day to say "please" and/or "no, thank you." She also still rambles and spits out complete baby gibberish. It is just hilarious to listen to.

Her personality is utterly amazing. She is funny and giggly and always making everyone laugh. She has a bit of a temper and often gets frustrated easily with simple tasks she is trying to work out. I work very hard at remaining calm and teaching her to do the same. Patience, patience, patience. =) She is head strong and will let you know if you are in her way or doing something she doesn't like.

This, by far, is my favorite age. Paxtin is SO much fun and an amazing little girl. I almost get sad when I think back to the bitty baby days and search for memories. It seems so long ago and all gone in a blur. Yes, I am having some baby fever. But also enjoying watching my sweet Lambie grow.

Happy 15 months, Paxi!!

welcome to kindermusik

Finally. An awesome, baby friendly class that I am absolutely ecstatic about taking Paxtin to.

I first heard about Kindermusik from my friend, Courtney, who signed up her cupcake awhile back. I was so jealous and angry that there was nothing like this in our area for P. BUT-after some searching and hunting people down-I found a Kindermusik class about 45 minutes away. Not completely ideal, but better than nothing. I could hardly wait for the demonstration class, to see what we thought and how Pax responded to the class.

In true Pax fashion, she totally did her own thing and mostly watched from outside the circle...which, the teacher said was fine. I didn't want to force her to join in and ruin the whole experience from there on out. She was very interested in the songs, the instruments, and even the exercises we did together. I think as we continue to go each week, she will become more comfortable with the circle time and the activities in general.

I felt a little silly taking pics during the class-didn't want to offend the other moms-so I held off. When we begin our actual classes next week, I will be taking lots of shots for sure. I waited until we got home and I got a shot of her with her new Kindermusik take home instrument. ; )

September 04, 2009

so long sweet summer.

Sorry for the blog vacation.

It was just too pretty outside this past week and I didn't really have much going on! I thought Fall had made a semi-early appearance, but today it was back to HOT Arkansas September. Oh well, it was good while it lasted.

Pax and I had a baby friend over on Thursday. Rylee's mommy needed a last minute babysitter and I got the call (@6 a.m.) Pax did very well with her and had a blast with all her toys. Of course.

It was a little early and they weren't into pics. I don't know what I ever complained about when Pax was that age...she didn't move! I am so used to having a baby trail me from room to room-it was so different.

These other shots are just some pics I took during the week. I got excited it was so cool and got out some of Paxi's Fall clothes. I am positively giddy over some argyle and corduroy. =)

Ugh-my poor baby has allergies like crazy. This weather has done nothing but make her a snotty, sneezing mess.

I promise to be a better blogger next week!!

GO HOGS. =)
