After our busy Easter post, I just lost interest in taking tons of photos. Plus, we really didn't have TOO much going on.
That, of course, didn't last long...so, we are back!! AND, I win terrible mother of the year award for forgetting Paxtin's 35 month picture and post. :( I think when we reach age 3, we will just hang up the monthly photos. She HATES to do it and I can just document her progress with simple, candid photos. ; )
Anyways...Sunday we all loaded up and traveled to south Arkansas for my great-aunt Alice's 80th birthday. I don't see Aunt Alice NEAR enough--I never really did as a kid and now that we are grown with our own families, we rarely get to see her at all. So, it was exciting to get to see her, share Pax with her (whom she had only met once) and help her celebrate her big day!! To say Alice looks young and sprite for 80, is an understatement...she's absolutely AMAZING for her age. Both mentally and physically, she's such an inspiration...I truly hope I got some of her genes!! ; )

We had so much fun visiting with family we hadn't seen in years. Pax had a blast being the center of attention. ; )
Speaking of my lambie, I want to get in her 35 month progress while I am sitting her blogging. I am ashamed I let it slip my mind this month!!
Pax at 35 months:
MAJOR accomplishment...again! NO MORE PASSY. I sat here and thought, 'no, that's not a new development...' BUT it IS! It seems that she hasn't had it for so long, but I guess it's only been about a month now. Aside from some self-soothing she's had to master again, she's done AWESOME with out her passy. I know she missed it at first...she never really cried FOR it, but she did have trouble sleeping at first. That's all worn off and she's back to her normal sleeping routine. I can only hope and pray that our future children transition this easy. Heck, I may never INTRODUCE the passy to the next ones! ; )
Speaking of sleep...We have had an interesting set back and we are still trying to figure it out...
Paxtin refuses to sleep in her bed. AT. ALL. She has been napping and sleeping at night on her floor for about a month now. We initially thought it was because she didn't have her passy anymore, but now that she's over crying about that, she goes right to sleep-with out so much as a whimper, ON THE FLOOR. I have a hunch that all the recent storming in our area had something to do with it. There were two nights last month I had to get her OUT of bed to go to our safe place for a tornado warning. She's also started the "I'm scared" stuff. She can't tell me exactly what scares her in her room, but I can tell she's not crying over nothing. We have taken turns helping her get settled for bed, but after that took SEVERAL hours a few nights, we now just let her sleep with her door open. I CAN NOT handle kids in my bed. We've stopped fighting her about it and just allow her to sleep in her floor. If it makes her feel safe...and she's able to rest, then we just go with it. She won't sleep there forever!
I think we are going to plan our first appointment to the dentist in a few weeks. I'm a little nervous for that adventure, but it must be done. :/ We will also be going to get her yearly check-up next month, so I will have updated height and weight. =)
We love you Lambie and CAN NOT believe you are almost THREE. That's two short years left until you will be a Kindergartner. WOW. I am cherishing this time of your life as much as I can..before you get any bigger!! LOVE YOU. xoxox

My Grandson is 6 months older then Pax, he fell out of his bed, not hurt just really scared, it was nearly 2 months before he climbed back in, she will be back in her bed real soon. Your Aunt looks great for 85!
